Wildscapes Receeding Wave Memorial María Luisa

The waves that slam the Oregon, USA coast are often huge in the winter, and in some places they break directly against sandstone cliffs. It was in one such place that I found this vantage. I was perched on the edge of a rock ledge about 20 feet about the pounding waves, hoping it wouldn’t give way and timing the opening of the shutter for when the frothy water was receding before the next wave. The lens I used was an ultra wide-angle, and this view is probably 70 feet wide.
